Yurok Family Wellness Program

The Family Wellness Program is under the direction of Chris Peters of Red Deer Consulting.  The Family Wellness Program provides language and cultural instruction to strengthen Yurok families in their connection to Yurok culture and life.    

  • Spiritual Mentors for Tribal Members in Residential Treatment 
  • Attendance at Tribal Ceremonies and Dance Camp for Tribal Members who are in the Yurok Wellness Program
  • Referral for Yurok Language classes and workshops
  • Cultural Mentors for Tribal Members referred to the Wellness Program 
  • Referral for Yurok Cultural workshops
  • Instruction in Dance Protocol 
  • Instruction in Traditional Gathering

Justice Advisory Board

  • Tribal Members are represented on the Justice Advisory Board
  • Make recommendations for Yurok Tribe Wellness Programs
  • Policy development for Yurok Tribe Wellness Programs
